Hi there! My name is Elisavet (but I also go by Elizabeth!) and I am a PhD candidate in Information and Media at Michigan State University, studying how AI systems influence people’s attitudes and behavior. My research sits at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction, Media Psychology, and Communication. I employ a mixed methods approach to my work including interviews, focus groups, participatory design, experimental, and computational methods.
Right now, I am working on my dissertation, exploring how AI can influence individuals' attitudes and behavior as they navigate team dynamics in collaborative and workplace settings. Within this context, I am particularly interested in how gender dynamics and stereotypes influence our behavior, both in our interactions with AI systems and with other humans.
Outside of research, I like to stay active with yoga or running. I also spend my free time painting, reading, or trying out new recipes. I also love to travel; I have visited ten countries so far!
Feel free to reach out if you'd like to learn more about my research or connect over shared interests: averkiad[at]msu[dot]edu.
